Parents Need Help Too
ESU realized that in order to assist families you also need to empower the parents. Many times students struggle because the parents have so many barriers that it impacts the children. Thus the ESU Career Institute was created to service the adult population.
By partnering the Department of Human Services, we offer certification courses in Clerical Skills and Customer Service to adults 18 and up. Families that are recieving SNAP benefits may be eligible to recieve tuition assistance. Each participant is provided resume building, interview skills, professionalism and job search support. We believe that if the parents are given support, this will impact their children and families.
In addition, we provide cell phone training and computer basics for the elderly. This support assists them with avoiding isolation and helps prevent scammers that harm the elderly population.
